LiteLoader Mods are designed to work with the LiteLoader mod API, created by Mumfrey. This mod API is meant for mods that modify aspects of the Minecraft client, such as VoxelMenu. Unlike Forge, it cannot be used to add new blocks, items, mechanics, or creatures to the game.LiteLoader Mods can be installed independently or alongside Forge or Optifine using the .litemod file extension. Although development and mod support for LiteLoader stopped around 1.12.2, many mods have since been ported to Forge, Rift, and Fabric for 1.13.2 onward.
